Experience
I have almost five years experience tutoring a wide range of topics, including English language, reading, and writing. I received a B.A. in history from Gettysburg College in 2009, and was a tutor for middle school students in the Adams County Big Brothers, Big Sisters program. I received a M.A. in history from the University of Maryland in 2013. As a historian, I am well trained in critical reading and writing and can provide instruction for students in middle school or above. I have also spent considerable time teaching and tutoring English as a second language abroad (in Russian mostly). I have a TEFL certificate along with over five years of experience, and I can offer a multitude of individualized lessons for non-native English speakers. As a PhD Candidate, I have published several scholarly articles in peer-reviewed, in English and in Russian. I have received many grants and fellowships, including the US Fulbright Student Award.
