Private tutor in Carrboro, NC

Education

University of Pennsylvania - Bachelors, Physics , Cornell University - PhD, Biomedical Engineering

Experience

I attended Cornell University-Ithaca to earn my PhD in biomedical engineering. While there, I found my passion for math and physics. I am enrolled at UNC Chapel Hill's School of Pharmacy as a postdoctoral research fellow. While there, I am working on a non-viral gene therapy system to treat tumors. I gained much of my experience as a tutor over the past several years. I work with many high school and undergraduate students. As a tutor, I strive to offer direction and insight to their learning process through personalized lesson plans and activities. I encourage reflection of the material as the student practices with it through various methods. I often use my research experience to improve my examples to students. I believe that traditional education and private education provide a balance in learning. I fill in any educational blanks while focusing on the student's individual goals. I seek to give my students the tools and resources needed to master the subject at hand, whether that topic is pre-calculus, biomedical engineering, physics, or any other math topic. In my free time, I love to explore nature. I am particularly fond of waterfalls and mountain hikes. I am an avid reader. I also enjoy the PhDivas podcast, weightlifting, and painting.
