Two years of Civil Engineering at University of Alaska Fairbanks. Currently in the Linguistics program as a transfer student at UNC at Chapel Hill, rising senior; GPA 3.79. I graduated from high school in the top ten percent of my class, qualifying me for the University of Alaska Scholar Award.
Experience
Cumulative SAT score: 2200 I've tutored my brothers throughout the years of their schooling. I volunteered with Hawbridge Charter School in Saxapahaw toward the end of the semester as a tutor. (references from there available) I worked as a volunteer from 7-12th grade with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) involved in and leading Bible Clubs in Alaska. I also helped train other students in the program.

Hobbies
I love reading, and I occasionally write. I play the piano. I enjoy the outdoors and being active, but not for activities sake. I enjoy being with people most of all, and I believe that multi-generational interaction is crucial for the health of any community. I love to work with my hands. I enjoy playing video games on occasion. I've traveled internationally three times (Burkina Faso, Russia, and New Zealand, not counting Canada), and I consider this to be a large contributor to my education. It's given me a broader perspective on life and a higher appreciation for the value of education. It is one of the reasons I returned to school to finish a degree. Though my faith in Jesus is a huge part of who I am, I do not use tutoring as an avenue to spread that faith. It is, however, the motivation I have for trying to respect every individual born on this planet.
