I have over 10 years in teaching and tutoring math from K-college. I enjoy working one-on-one with students of all ages. I have taught elementary school in North Carolina for the past 7 years. I am a licensed, highly qualified North Carolina Teacher. I have a Master of Education in Elementary Education, with a math concentration, from Louisiana State University. I was a summa cum laude honors graduate and tested out or made an "A" in all college level math classes (including Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus (I, II, and III), Discrete Mathematics, graduate level Probability & Statistics). I am passionate about teaching math and committed to the educational success of my students. I believe learning math goes beyond simply knowing facts and formulas but understanding the "how" and "why". I am a patient caring person that is able to break down a math concept into the basic building blocks. I ask questions to see how you are thinking about a math concept and encourage you to ask questions. Moreover, I like to make learning math fun by incorporating manipulatives and helpful tricks. I have proven to be an effective North Carolina teacher by raising the math grades of my students. I have raised students grades from C's, D's, and F's to A's.
